This is a trip with The Nations Initiative to Kenya in support of the work of the Amos Family!
Come and live for a week at the Gideon Children's home in rural Kenya where you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the children during all of their daily activities. You will be able to teach the children Bible stories, play games with them, serve them meals and tuck them in each night! The team will also help make some improvements on the dorms at the children's home by painting them. Besides daily interactions with the children the team will:
-Build a mud home for a community member in need
-participate in local home groups where they will share their testimony or a short teaching
-learn 2 by 2 evangelism with James and practice in the local market
-visit elderly people in remote places and bring them food
-and more!
** Because this is a vision trip and space is limited, only applications from August Gate Church will be approved for this trip.
** Please review the Requirements related to Medical and Entry into Kenya as those will add some additional costs.
** Also, Background checks are REQUIRED, so please make sure you complete and mail that to [email protected] as soon as possible after completing your application.

Background Check Consent Form Required
Because of the nature of the work we are doing it is likely that every team member will be working with or around children on this mission trip; therefore, we require all team members to complete a criminal background check.
Parental Consent Form for Minors
If you are participating in this trip and you are a minor who will not be attended by your parent or legal guardian, we require that this form be completed and submitted to our team.
Requirements
Prerequisites
- All participants must have a valid passport, not expiring within six months of the final date of the trip.
- Required Vaccinations: Typoid
- Recommended Vaccinations: Hep A, Hep B / Also, it is recommended that you are up to date on Polio, Diphtheria, and Tetanus
- Malaria Prophylaxis is NECESSARY (Obtain from your PCP)
- Kenyan ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) - Cost: $30 - Must be applied for at least 3 days prior to arrival. Valid for 90 days from issue. https://etakenya.go.ke/en

- Must be from August Gate Church.
Preparation
- Spiritual Preparation: Begin praying for those who you will minister to, for the team, and for your own heart in particular.
- Spiritual Preparation: Consider and write out your testimony. Remember that you will be working through translators, so write it simple, direct, and clear.
- Spiritual Preparation: Do not expect that you will do in some other place what you are unwilling to do here... so start
- Physical Preparation: Packing lists and cultural information will come as the trip approaches.
- Passport: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR PASSPORT IN ORDER (valid and not expiring within 6 months of the final date of the trip) IT IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO IMMEDIATELY TAKE CARE OF THIS IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND THIS TRIP.
