West Africa Mission Trip - Jan/Feb 2025 (TNI/BCA)
This trip is a joint mission effort of Bethlehem Christian Academy and The Nations Initiative. As a result, it will have two teams operating at the same time in West Africa.
- One team will be holding a pastor training event hosted by The Nations Initiative.
- The other team will be serving students at a Bethlehem Christian Academy location.
There will be some combined elements, such as a viewing of The Hope Film, which will give opportunities to share the gospel in a village setting.
All team members should be prepared to share the story of what God has done in their lives, both with the team and in relational contexts.
Selected members will be asked to lead morning devotionals to encourage the team and turn hearts to the Lord.

Background Check Consent Form Required

All participants that are age 18 or older, who apply for a trip with The Nations Initiative or Bethlehem Christian Academy, must complete a national background check at least 30 days before the trip starts.

If a background check has been administered for you within the last year and you would prefer to provide a copy of the results, please feel free to submit this to our team via the same email. The background check must be conducted by a qualified service provider and include the following minimum criteria:
- Multi-State Criminal Record/Sexual Offender
- Search Social Security or Identity Verification
Adult Leader Disqualification:
The following behaviors discovered in a background check will automatically disqualify a person without review or recourse:
- Having any traits or tendencies that could pose any threat to children, youth, or others
- Sexual misconduct including crimes resulting in conviction
- Violence against another person resulting in a felony conviction within the last 10 years
- Use/distribution of illicit drugs or controlled substances resulting in conviction in the last 10 years
- Property crime resulting in conviction in the last 10 years
We cannot make exceptions to this requirement for any reason, including testimonies of miraculous rehabilitation. The church is not obligated to report specific findings to The Nations Initiative or Bethlehem Christian Academy. Other infractions that may come up on a background check will not necessarily disqualify a person by our standards.

Parental Consent Form for Minors

Anyone under the age of 18 traveling with a mission team from The Nations Initiative or Bethlehem Christian Academy MUST have a Parental Consent Form in their possession to leave the country unless accompanied by a parent.
Minors under 18 years of age must travel with parental consent. Failure to comply may result in denied boarding.

Prerequisites
- All participants must have a valid passport, not expiring within six months of the final date of the trip.
Responsibilities
- TNI Trainers will be responsible to teach a portion of the TNI module curriculum and will likely have opportunities to evangelize and/or preach
- BCA Team will be responsible for VBS, Sports Camps, Discipleship Training, Work Projects, and/or Various Other service opportunities
Restrictions
- Application must be approved by TNI/BCA.
